Administrative

Volunteers for this committee staff the fellowship office for several hours each weekday. They respond to phone and email messages, prepare Sunday Order of Service, manage the calendar, maintain a database of members, friends and visitors and provide copying and mailing services for staff and board members. This committee is coordinated by Edie Swallow.

Annual Stewardship

Runs the fellowship's annual pledge campaigns.

Archives

The Archives Committee maintains a history of UUFE as well collects and keeps available important documents. The committee compiles Board minutes and Board policies and procedures as well as monthly newsletters and weekly bulletins. In addition, this committee keeps newspaper articles and photographs of events in scrap books for reference. The newest addition is a compilation of our new member biographies so that old and new members can learn more about each other. All records are kept in a bookcase in the Administrative Office for easy access by all.

Building & Grounds

Building & Grounds manages issues related to the building and the property.

Communications Team

The Communications Team is not really a committee, but includes UUFE's newsletter editor (Frank Greenburg), publicity manager (Jean Griffith) and webmaster (Sandra Henry-Stocker).

Leadership Development & Nominating Committee

This committee nominates board members and helps to ensure that leadership is cultivated across the fellowship and succession of leaders is planned.

Ministry

The Committee on Ministry is a select group of individuals who help support this essential component of our fellowship.

Personnel

The Personnel Committee handles employee issues and concerns. The fellowship has only three paid employees and two are part-time.

Fundraising

Some members think this committee should be called the "fun raising" committee for all interesting things they do to raise money for the fellowship while encouraging activities that bring members together in novel and entertaining ways. This committee sponsors activities such as the Annual Service Auction and the Too Good for a Yard Sale event.

Finance

The Finance Committee, headed by Peter Paul, dedicates itself to drafting a proposed budget for the fellowship each year and monitoring the fellowship's financial well being.

Worship

Headed by Nancy Orr in collaboration with our minister, our Worship committee helps to plan services and provide a worshipful spiritual experience during services.

Member Services

Headed by Gail Woodall (email) Member Services has one goal -- to attract and assimilate new members. This goal involves welcoming visitors, introducing them to UUism and helping new members to feel at home in our diverse, active community. Member Services also includes the Caring subcommittee which assists members in need of support. Ann Davis co-chairs this sub-committee.

Music

Headed by Maggie Garey, the Music Committee oversees the music program at UUFE. This involves the choir (directed by John Turner) as well as various ad hoc musical groups. Sandra Henry-Stocker serves as Music Coordinator in an effort to encourage other musical talent -- from drumming to soloists and small ensembles -- to enhance the music program at UUFE.

Religious Education (RE)

There are separate committees for religious education of adults and children. Children's RE is headed by Liz Hausburg and provides programs during Sunday services. Adult RE provides a wide range of spiritual and social programs.

Adult Enrichment

Co-chaired by Peggy and Paul Sharp, this committee overarches Adult Religious Education, Small Group Ministry and Adult Interest Group subcommittees.

Social Justice

Co-chaired by Ken Court and David Stevens, the Social Justice Commitee provides services and funds to local groups that serve the needy. See Social Outreach for more details. The committee also reprsents the fellowship on many social issues such as peace, justice, health, hunger, climate action and same sex marriage.

Kitchen/Coffee Hour

With Eric A. Stocker at the helm, the Coffee Hour (Galley) Committee provides coffee and snacks after service to encourage after service discussion and welcome visitors. The committee also ensures that the kitchen is orderly and well stocked with necessary items, such as mugs and napkins.

UUFE Committees

Serving on one of the many UUFE committees is a great way to participate in the life of the fellowship. Volunteers help to plan our worship services, maintain our property, teach our kids, provide outreach to the local and global communities, raise and manage our finances, answer our phones, enliven our musical groups, keep our kitchen supplied and provide coffee and snacks after service.
